Stretch Your Spirit, Practice Peace, Connect Through Love
10/31/16: On Halloween, many people believe that the veil between the dimensions thins enough for better communication between loved ones. The days surrounding this holiday are often times for séances and seeking out mediums who act as conduits for communication. You can try reaching out to those on the other side by sitting quietly, preferably in the dark with a lit white candle and a clear quartz crystal. You should center your energies and clear your mind and then request only communication that is in and of the white light. Then, you simply talk to your loved ones and ask for signs that they are nearby. The signs and communication could be instantaneous, but more likely these will occur later and unexpectedly in the form of dreams of the person, the appearance of coins and feathers, or the manifestation of aromas associated with this person during life. When you are done, thank the spirits for their visitation, send thoughts of love and peace, and extinguish the flame. In truth, you can try this anytime throughout the year, but with so many people reaching out around Halloween it is entirely possible that the increase of this energy of communication eases the ability to perceive what is always there—your loved ones in spirit nearby.
8/26/16: Close your eyes and think of someone for whom you have an adverse reaction, someone who seems to act and react within the darkness of willful ignorance. Now, send that person white light and within that light send the feeling of love, but make sure you have surrounded yourself with that same white sparkling light to act as a shield before you attempt this lest the love be reflected back with negativity attached. Just think/feel love toward this person. Don’t take more than a few moments to do this and then release this intent. If you like, practice daily for as long as you like, or try sending to different people. Notice how your own life improves as you lead yourself through positive, loving intent.
3/2/16: Get yourself a notebook of comfortable size and shape. I prefer composition notebooks. You can use different ones for different exercises, or you can use the same one for all of the writing exercises I will share with you. Keep the notebook with you as much as possible. This week, start by writing down the dreams you remember from your sleep. Even wisps of memory can be useful. Some dreams are reactions to what we eat before sleeping. Some are messages from loved ones who have passed on. Some are creative solutions to problems or questions you have. Don’t worry if you don’t remember anything whatsoever upon waking. By writing down what or how you feel when you come to consciousness, you will begin to create a pattern of behavior that will invite your dreams to stay better centered in your waking mind.
2/23/16: In keeping with this week’s theme of the full moon, here is an easy exercise. Take any crystals you work with or have around the house and place them in the light of the full moon for the time it is in its fullness. This cleanses any negative accumulation of energies and allows these to be replaced by the positive, loving energies of the bright moonlight.
2/15/16: Look into a mirror. Study the reflection of the being you see. Note the details that make you recognizable to yourself and others. Know that when the Creative Spirit looks within you, it sees the reflection of itself.
2/8/16: Metta Meditation: (from Spiritual Core Strength http://amzn.to/1sUt6Cf ) At any time, in any place chant: “May all beings be peaceful. May all beings be happy. May all beings be safe. May all beings awaken to the light of their true nature. May all beings be free.” There are various versions of this, but it serves to draw the individual out of self and into a sense of community with the universe. You need not chant loudly; chanting softly under your breath or even silently will have the same effect.
2/2/16: There is an energy that permeates everything in the universe. This vital energy is known by many names, including Qi, Chi, and Prana. This energy, which is of and holds your spirit, flows through your body, emanating around the body as light and color. This light-energy surrounding the body is called the aura or, around the head, it is sometimes called a halo. The energy remains in and attached to the body while it is alive, and continues to exist after that which is termed “death” but is, in reality, a transition, from spirit in the body to spirit without a body, neither superior to the other in and of itself. The energy that is the spirit and holds the spirit can be seen under certain circumstances and by those whose gifted or developed talent it is to discern such energy. You can experiment with and verify the existence of this energy by performing a simple exercise. Hold your hands several inches apart in front of the area between your heart and solar plexus. Try not to let your breath flow between your hands. Close your eyes and visualize energy flowing from the palm of each hand towards the other hand. As the energy meets in the middle between your hands, you will begin to feel a warmth building and a slight vibration or tingling in each hand. Slowly move your hands apart. The energy will continue to reach between your hands as the warmth increases. If this were simply the heat of your hands, the warmth should lessen as you move your hands apart, but instead you will find that it simply becomes warmer and warmer. This is the vital energy flowing between your hands, the same energy that flows within you and from you towards the energies emanating from those around you. It is the omniscient and omnipresent energy of the universe. (from Simple Gifts: Daily Meditations with Spirit, available through Amazon, http://tinyurl.com/d2ux3nx)
