We can only be sure of here and now, for tomorrow can change who we are and what we are doing. In an instant, in a nano-second, the earth beneath us can slip away, leaving us unsupported and seeking to regain our balance. In the now, we need to be the best we can be, in the here we need to remain true to ourselves and each other. In the here and now we need to live in solidarity with spirit incarnate and discarnate in a common state of grace. Then, in that next moment of here and now, after we regain our footing, even in different circumstances, we remain solid in knowing that in doing our best and staying true to our highest self, we are held in the arms of the Creative Spirit in an All-encompassing state of love. When we name, we classify, and thus divide. This is an orange, it is a fruit, it is not a vegetable. This is a salmon, it is a fish, it is not a grain. Neither the orange nor the salmon, we can surmise, takes issue or offense at being so named or classified. And no derisive or malevolent intent exists in dividing one from the other. Unfortunately, when we name and classify people by race, religion, or social group, the result is often divisive. Two otherwise similar individuals develop feelings of superiority or hostility when they are divided by perceived differences, often resulting in violence, one toward the other. Since the Creative Spirit never espouses these negative ideas and outcomes, one must ask, if the tenets of all religions are grounded in the idea of loving one another and loving a higher being, how did the message drift so far from its roots? The Creative Spirit, no matter how expressed by humankind, lives in a state of love and expects no less from spirit incarnate. While we may not be able to offer physical aid, we can join together in prayer and/or through the sending of healing or positive intention to comfort and as a means for the person’s spirit to be gathered into the All and thereby find a path toward healing the body. While the spirit itself cannot be harmed, the spirit incarnate, in the time of distraction and disconnection during a trauma or illness, can forget that it is part of an ever sustaining whole. When we gather to send help to the spirit in need, we remind that entity that it is not alone and this support can facilitate a change in perspective necessary for healing. When we address the needs of one who has been hurt or suffering from disease, we all gain from the lesson of giving and receiving. The spirit in need serves as the impetus for learning the lessons of compassion and empathy through the modality of love. Namaste! https://www.tobiehewitt.com/contact.html to join my mailing list. As we awaken from the dormancy of winter, it is the time to assess our physical and spiritual beings and find ways to lighten and brighten our lives upon this earth. It is time to stop postponing “what ifs” and continue our travels down the paths we have chosen for this incarnation. It is time to pick up the trowel and plant new ideas, hopes, and dreams, to cast seeds of future manifestations along our path, showering them with the rains of renewal, nurturing them with the rays of love. It is time to move past fear and cast away our apprehensions as we reach for that which is our birthright of happiness. It is time to take each others’ hands as we stand together in the verdant garden that is our creation within the Creative Spirit and bask in the light of love and peace. Now, the earth begins to awaken, deep within the cold ground. It is a time of change, always in relation to the light that sustains our planet and all that resides on it. Even as the snow continues to fall, even as the cold wind continues to blow, slowly, imperceptibly, the light begins to nudge at the horizon earlier and days begin to lengthen. We sit in the dark, listening for the sounds of winter turning into hints of spring. We light candles, as did our ancestors, to illuminate the darkness and welcome back the ever growing light. In this stillness, in the contrast of dark and light, we sense our heartbeats measuring time, pulse by pulse. And in this time of anticipation, of awareness of the edge of quiet and rebirth, we sense our own cycle through time, our own birth and rebirth, and celebrate the peace that comes from knowing we are integral aspects of the cosmic dance in the light. Be here and now—in the illusion of a here and a now spaced within time. Close your eyes and open your heart. Quiet your mind and the chatter that is within and without you. Listen—hear the sound of the universe cascading around you and listen further and hear the words of spirit speaking to you, reminding you that what you are living is an illusion and that the reality is one of kindness to self and others. Listen and become gentle and calm. Feel spirit surround you with love, feel the love fill your heart with effervescent joy. Let the light of this love and joy fill every pore of your physical body and meld within your spirit. Let the love and joy flow from you to fill the illusion of time and space around you. Rising from this moment, take this love- and joy-filled light with you to illuminate your path. Namaste! https://www.tobiehewitt.com/contact.html to join my mailing list. (Art by Joy Argento; https://www.redbubble.com/shop/artbyjoy) In the eternal now, we inhabit this body for but a brief span. The illusion of days, one separated from the next into light and dark periods, cascading into an illusion of an end, impels us to act to fulfill some idea of a goal, like runners dashing for a finish line. But, there is no line, there is no end. We move from one experience to the next, from one body to the next, from one side of the veil to the other, not realizing when we are on this side that the other exists. Then, when we sit in the quiet moments, we remember, believing we are imagining places and people we have never known in this lifetime. We meet someone for the first time and recognize his or her spirit. We visit a place we have never been and feel welcomed home. Living within the Creative Spirit, we seek answers, not quite knowing the questions, not realizing that simply being here and now fulfills the purpose—to embody and express love on this plane. (Art by Joy Argento; https://www.redbubble.com/shop/artbyjoy) In the dawn of a new day, we see the sun rise over the horizon, over the trees, and into the sky to shine light on our portion of the earth. The sun does this every day without fail. Even when the sky is full of clouds creating a veil between the light and ourselves, the sun is still shining above us. We ask for miracles, to see that special moment that will awaken and solidify our belief in something larger than ourselves, to know that there are other realities. Do not mistake this—the sun rising is a miracle. The trees beneath it are miracles. And we, as we walk on this plane, on this earth, are miracles. We have but to look at each other, lit by the sun above, to see the miracles around us. Namaste! https://www.tobiehewitt.com/contact.html to join my mailing list. |
