A Life Examined

​Socrates said, “The unexamined life is not worth living.” When we do not give thought to our lives and the impulses we are following, we find ourselves swirling in an eddy of self-doubt and lack of self-knowledge. We allow shallow impulses to guide us rather than seeking the higher source of light and love. When we wallow in the darkness and abandon the hope that can sustain us through difficult times, we lose our way and purpose. We doubt the earth beneath our feet and the nature of the sky above. We do not have to allow the darkness of others to encroach on our lives. We can seek to live in and of the light. Examine your life with an open mind and an eager heart and you will awaken to the answers you seek. Namaste!
