Each week I will post the transcript of my podcast episode for the convenience of those who do not listen to the podcast or would like a printed version. Welcome to Episode 64 of Mystic Musings with Tobie Hewitt. This week we will consider Release as we continue our mystic journey. The process of being made aware of the message for these episodes involves asking Spirit for guidance and allowing that message to manifest through the seemingly random selection of an oracle or tarot card. Of course, the selection of topic is not random, but, rather, selected by the universe for contemplation and development. So it is with most aspects of working with Spirit, which, of course, is an endeavor we can all avail ourselves to. Seriously. We can all ask the universe for guidance and with practice we will begin to become aware that we are receiving answers. This topic was discussed with a few friends I know who are psychic mediums. I have been honored to help folks on this side of the veil connect with their loved ones on the other side. Each time I am amazed when some bit of verifiable information comes through to confirm that there is no death, there are no dead. I also enjoy, through talking with the client’s spirit guide and the use of oracle cards, helping them to sort out the aspects of their lives that need examination and, perhaps, change. Recently, though, I became aware that there is a sort of dependence that develops when a person needs help through a span of time and then continues to rely on me seeking the answers rather than relying on themselves and the universe for guidance and nurturing. It is worth knowing that, although for me, it is a gift to be able to speak with Spirit and share their messages, each person is responsible for their own happiness or unhappiness, to borrow from the Spiritualist Church tenets. Through meditation and prayer, everyone can become aware of their pathwork. And there are other methods, such as working with oracle cards or using Intuitive Writing, a technique I developed that allows each person to become their own conduit for guidance and communication with Spirit. How I got here in this episode was by letting go of ego and allowing Spirit to guide me. I am surprised at the flow of information, but now I think we can examine the card I was given from The Earth Magic Oracle Cards created by Steven D. Farmer. This 48-card oracle deck is beautiful and speaks to our connection with the universe around us, especially that small portion on which we live. I shuffled the deck thoroughly and asked for guidance. There was an immediate sense of being directed by Spirit when I saw the Autumnal Equinox card as the one presented for discussion. This card speaks of release, as in the idea of nature releasing the last of its growth cycle before entering into the quiet time when the earth rests and prepares to be reborn each year. This card also came with a sense of synchronicity because I am in the process of releasing all forms of clutter from my life, not only physical clutter, but people and task clutter as well. And then, of course, we have just celebrated the Autumnal Equinox itself. Some of my release practice has been difficult and, in some instances, challenging, but the accompanying feeling of freedom and lightness is well worth the effort. I am reminded of the song, to every season there is a purpose, and I realize that when things or people or tasks begin to weigh us down rather than lift us up, it is time to release that which no longer serves a positive purpose in our lives. The more I practice releasing, the easier, for the most part, it becomes. This practice leaves room for new and more positive things, people, and tasks to enter my life, and I encourage you to try releasing clutter so that you can experience the joy that comes from doing so. The more we take responsibility for our environment, including our physical, mental, and emotional environments, the more we can move into owning our lives and living them from moment to moment in the best manner possible, for our greatest good and the greatest good of those around us. Earlier I mentioned Intuitive Writing, which is a book available on Amazon.com under Tobie Hewitt. The exercises in this book have helped people to seek guidance themselves from the universe while establishing a writing practice that can further inform their lives and their paths. As I mentioned in an earlier episode, I am returning in earnest to my passion for writing and trying to adhere to a writing practice that best serves my need to write and gives time for Spirit to work through me to share thoughts, guidance, and messages with others. This episode has been created through releasing my need to control the passage of words into coherent form and allowing Spirit to share more fully in the process. I hope this episode has helped you to consider ways of releasing and growing in and through the energy of love.
