When we call on spirit for help, we are also calling on our own spirit to come forth and raise our awareness so we can adjust to meet any challenges we are facing. While an individual spirit is capable of knowing the need and what is required to meet that need, the larger community of spirit that exists in the Creative Spirit is always available to reach across the spiritual or physical veil. We may not know where our help comes from, for the spirit providing solace or guidance may be on our own plane or another, or even within. When we ask for help and truly listen for guidance, and then feel a shift in our alignment to a challenge, we know that we are being helped. We are being guided to take a step back and shift our perspective and see that our challenges, though these may appear great, are in the moment and are surmountable. Our challenges invite us to seek the support of spirit and, in doing so, enter into communion with the Creative Spirit. Namaste! https://www.tobiehewitt.com/contact.html to join my mailing list. Compassion is the awareness of the suffering of others and the desire to help ease that suffering. Sympathy allows us to feel someone’s sorrow, compassion compels us to act. When we express compassion toward another person, we are opening a pathway within the interdependent web. Along this radial, we send our thoughts and prayers toward this kindred spirit, while at the same time taking action on the physical plane. Our sense of family grows larger when we feel the needs of another and tend to them. We take this awareness into our hearts where it is transformed into a lesson for our spirit and the spirit in need. When we act from a place of compassion and kindness, we are melding the many into one. We are impelled toward a closeness of mind, heart, and spirit. In compassion is the light of the spirit acting with the energy of love. Namaste! https://www.tobiehewitt.com/contact.html to join my mailing list. Socrates said, “The unexamined life is not worth living.” In fact, the unexamined life leaves us balancing, sometimes gingerly, on a wavering and uneven path, never knowing if we are engaging in the right actions and going in the right direction. The purpose of “coincidences” is that these confirm for us that we are working in harmony with the Creative Spirit and within the parameters of our own life plans. Coincidence and synchronous events are moments of confirmation sent from the spirit realm to let us know that we are indeed acting as our best selves. Yesterday, as I was writing the meditation, as I wrote the word “compassion,” I overheard the word spoken on the nearby television. The simultaneous “coincidence” confirmed for me that I am, indeed, hearing the messages correctly and following my own path in this lifetime. Even if we live in religious communion with others with a central agreement of what form that being takes, we tweak the idea that is in our head to conform to our individual needs and beliefs. This is so because, as expressions of this deity, we add our own interpretation to the concept. Some of us believe in one, male god, who acts as a loving and stern father. Others believe in a nurturing and loving goddess. Some believe in one deity and others in many. And some do not believe in any deity at all. No matter our interpretation of that being, we should not allow these to divide us. The Creative Spirit, of which all these deities are expressions, exists in an ever-expanding universe of love from which flows compassion. Our colors shine and meld at the edges, forming bands of solidity, pulling us close, one to the next. In this, our strength is in our childlike purity. We will not hurt each other or draw each other into darkness, but instead join hands and dance upon the earth in peace and joy. We are called to compassion and empathy for those lost in the gray fog of ignorance who are bound by a misguided dogma to act with a cold and weak heart. We need to call them into the circle of humanity that all may join in the chorus of hope, faith, and love, and remind them that it is written that the greatest of these is love. We can move a mountain, we can purify the sea, we can build a world sustained by love. When we join hands to heal the body or the heart of the world, we do so from a position of faith. When we work in harmony and unity toward fulfilling the intent of the Creative Spirit, we enter into hope. And, when we dispel the darkness with the light of our spirits, ever brighter as they combine to ward off ignorance and intolerance, we light the path of the All as we travel toward communion with the Creative Spirit that asks only that we live in peace and love. (Art by Joy Argento; https://www.redbubble.com/shop/artbyjoy) This is not the first time you have been here, nor will it be the last. We incarnate over and over again in order to more finely tune our spirits to the knowledge gained through lessons on this physical plane. When we are born, we remember our past lives and the between times. We stare at those around us, aware of their spirits, remembering them from our past lives. We smile at a mother who was last time a sister, or a brother who was a cousin. Our spirits can still freely come and go journeying into other realms, informing our dreams. We are connected to our bodies via a silver cord that is very strong and pliable and will stay intact until our current earthly visit is completed. We remember all that we were and the larger realities that surround us. Then, as we begin to concentrate on our physical existence—moving our bodies, learning to speak the language of the culture in which we have “landed”—we slowly begin to shift our awareness away from who we are and begin to focus on who we are becoming. While, through dream and meditation we can still access this earlier information, we forget our real selves so we may commit to this new incarnation. (Art by Joy Argento; https://www.redbubble.com/shop/artbyjoy) Giving ourselves permission to create means giving ourselves permission to enter into cognizant communion with the Creative Spirit. When we allow ourselves to express our heart’s deepest stirrings, we become vibrationally attuned with the greater spirit within which we live. The popular conception of the medieval practice of alchemy was that the practitioner was trying to turn base metal into gold. In actuality, alchemy is the act of changing our base earthly impulses and perceptions into realizations of our spiritual existence and thus in our acts of creativity—our alchemistic moments—we become celebrations of spirit, binding thereby with the larger universal spirit. When we create, the alchemy of love transforms us into our real selves. Namaste! https://www.tobiehewitt.com/contact.html to join my mailing list. (Art by Joy Argento; https://www.redbubble.com/shop/artbyjoy) As we are each an expression of the Creative Spirit, so too, in turn, are we called upon to express our unique and varied perceptions of our world and share these with others. In our own creative acts, we pay homage to the greater being of which we are all a part. We do not need to reach the eminence of the masters in order to partake of the creative impetus and share our visions. A simple song, dance, writing, artwork, cooking, teaching, any creative expression, allows our spirits to communicate the stirrings of the heart. When we see and hear with the eyes and ears of the heart and uniquely translate those perceptions, we cast our creative acts into the greater sea of existence, buoyed by the same joyful love that sustained that first creative act. (Art by Joy Argento; https://www.redbubble.com/shop/artbyjoy) As we stand in the moment of now, we are balanced between the past and the future, aware but non-judgmental. Who we are in this plane in any given moment is formed by choices we made, both prior to incarnating and during this current physical expression. While it would seem that one is male or female, or of one race or another, we all have elements of each of these within, informed by all that is contained within our spirit and the larger Creative Spirit. Our spirit tempers each element to keep in balance internally that we might keep balance in the larger world. What we project as our self is actually a series of choices that we make to integrate into a sustainable whole. Since we all contain elements of each expression of the All, the idea to discriminate against any one expression runs contrary to the reality of the larger being of the Creative Spirit. The rainbow does not discriminate against its parts. Namaste! https://www.tobiehewitt.com/contact.html to join my mailing list. (Art by Joy Argento; https://www.redbubble.com/shop/artbyjoy) |
