As we sit quietly and peacefully, white candles lit to dispel darkness, we wait expectantly for our departed loved ones to once more join us. As our spirits reach out across the veil, our light serves as a beacon, illuminating the path that the discarnate spirits can follow to join us in celebration of eternal love. Now the way is made easy to enjoy the company of those with whom we share a never ending bond. By any name, this night and tomorrow create a portal through which spirits can communicate as we embrace each other in the energy of love. Tomorrow night and the following day, the veil is its thinnest, merely an etheric mist between the realm of the spirit incarnate and the spirit discarnate. We can prepare ourselves for this period of clear communication and interaction by purifying our environments. Try to decrease clutter, recycle newspapers, make sure everything is clean and tidy. The less physical disorder exists to confuse your mind, the easier it will be to perceive those in spirit around you. Different cultures adhere to different rituals to entice spirit to visit. The easiest course of action is to light white candles, turn off the lights, and sit in a space of welcoming love. As we open ourselves to the possibility, spirit finds its way to us. When we become overwrapped by grief over what is in truth the illusion of loss, we can lose our way and dedicate our energies to sorrow. When we realize that the spirit of our loved one continues to exist and is available to communicate with, we can benefit from inviting them to visit us to share love and the affection of spirit. Sometimes, the closeness available to spirit is even greater than that when spirits are harbored within the physical. Open your spirit self to the spirits of others and realize there really is no death and there are no dead. Namaste! https://www.tobiehewitt.com/contact.html to join my mailing list. As we work through these emotions we come at some point to the question of where our friend or family member has gone to. Where is their essence, their soul, their spirit? This inquiry can begin immediately or occur during or after the physical form has been removed from our presence. We have but to think of the person and wait expectantly to sense that he or she is close by. When we listen and watch with the ears and eyes of the heart, the spirit senses a welcome that overcomes the illusion of separation. The validity of dreams is often overlooked or dismissed. We don’t actually know which parts of our lives are built on dreams and which are part of some other expression of reality. We assume when we are asleep that the dreams we encounter are a bit of brain activity related to memories of the day or some fantasy to entertain. When we are awake, we believe we are experiencing a reality more solid than that we encounter in sleep. In truth, we cannot know which is the dream and which is “reality,” whether we are indeed dreaming when we are actually experiencing what we agree upon as reality. It does not matter. When we become aware of the shifting borders of dream, we begin to realize our essential reality exists in the realm of miracles. As we weave in and out of each other’s lives, we become aware of a familiarity of experience and knowledge that reminds us that we are returning to that which we always knew, but which we have forgotten. When we release the doubt and fear of the unknown and recognize that all is potentially known to us within the ever broadening interdependent web, we know at once a sense of the new within the reality of the ever occurring now. Our oneness has existed, exists, and will exist in the perpetual first breath of the Creative Spirit. Namaste! https://www.tobiehewitt.com/contact.html to join my mailing list. Without impediment of self-limitation and self-repudiation, we can discern this larger spirit existing in harmony and communion with our own. As we live our time within the physical, knowing we remain part of the larger spiritual whole sustains and informs us on our path. Acknowledging that we remain separate while at the same time we are part of the All can instill in us a confidence in action and thought that allows us to work toward the higher vision that is the goal of this transit through the physical. We live in the physical while seeking to attain renewed communion with the Creative Spirit, which at once is our creator and our creation. (Art by Joy Argento) When we practice oneness as individuals and in community, we learn to recognize the points of connection. We know when we are practicing singular solidarity as our body, mind, and spirit act in harmony to allow us to pursue our path in the manner that reflects that which is considered our best self. When we practice oneness in community, we find the many paths flowing in the way of compassion and kindness in the fulfillment of peace. (Art by Joy Argento) Our essential eternal being is spirit; the physical is but transitory, a shell that transports us through this plane. But as such, care of the body is important so that we may gracefully and energetically traverse our path through this life and through meditation train our body to become one with our mind and spirit. All must function in unity in order to celebrate the oneness of our individual being. As we are separate parts, acting as one so, too, is it possible for all those incarnate to train themselves to work together for peace. (Art by Joy Argento) As we approach that time when the veil between the physical and spirit planes is thinnest, when the earth falls silent and into the sleep portending rebirth, we are visited by both spirits of loved ones and the energies of that which does not incarnate. While we open ourselves to the loving presence of family and friends who have moved to the other side of the veil, we need to remain centered within the light so that negatively charged beings cannot bother us. When we center ourselves in the light of the energy of love, we allow only positive energy to flow to and through us. Namaste! https://www.tobiehewitt.com/contact.html to join my mailing list.
