The sorrow of a lifetime of what-ifs and postponed decisions and actions translates into a lifetime that never reaches its full potential, that never fulfills its purpose. At the end of one’s incarnation, one wants to acknowledge having lived fully, knowing that all that one’s spirit had set out to do was at least attempted, if not accomplished. In the trying, we still learn the desired lesson. We do not need to accomplish all sorts of grand levels of action. And certainly, we do not successfully thrive at the expense of others. We do need to live a life that reaches for the greatest good for self and for the All. Procrastination and inaction impede the progress of the soul. Kahlil Gibran wrote that children “come through you but not from you.” We must constantly remember that these small beings whose bodies our bodies formed, are also spirits who existed before this incarnation as ageless entities and will continue as such after this earthly expression is completed. We live in our highest commitment to the interdependent web of existence when we nurture not simply their physical bodies, but their spirit selves as well. When we acknowledge, celebrate, and honor their independence as beings with whom we share this moment in this space, we come to realize our oneness as equal expressions of the Creative Spirit, formed by and sustained in love. You are spirit not just on some designated day of the week, but every day, in every moment, with every breath. As such, you are continually called on to live your best self and for the highest good of All. To live in the knowledge that you are part of the eternal interdependent web of existence means you are alert to the needs of others and respond to those needs. It means living knowing that what is termed “death” is an illusion and that your spirit will support you in every frame of existence in which you find yourself, without fear or constraint. It means remaining open to the inspiration of the Creative Spirit and living in and through the energy of love. Namaste! https://www.tobiehewitt.com/contact.html to join my mailing list. When we are silently focused, we can hear the voice of the Creative Spirit resonating within our own incarnate spirit. In the quiet during meditation we can hear the words of truth that will ease our way through this life as it exists as part of the eternal now. Fear, guilt, shame, self-doubt—these emotions rob us of the joy of the moment. When we approach this moment in a state of love and clarity of purpose, with the intent of the highest good of all, we are rewarded by knowing that we are doing our best and therefore should not allow ourselves to suffer from feelings of failure or transgression. These feelings feed the fog of negativity that can seep into our lives, permeating our perceptions and every facet of our lives until we lose our connection with our higher self. If we remain mindful, we will rest easy knowing that the Creative Spirit supports us in our moment to moment existence in a matrix of compassion, empathy, kindness, and love. In other words, whatever you put out into the world, you will receive back. For better or worse, in fact, what comes back at you comes back three-fold. If you emanate love, love will come back to you in abundance, but by the same token, if you send out feelings of hate, so also will this come back in a three-fold manner. If you show compassion and empathy, you will be surrounded by that bountiful support. If you show the lack of these, you will have to struggle to stand when faced with the tides of misfortune. It is always better to acknowledge and practice the Golden Rule: do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Kindness and generosity sown in the fertile garden of the interdependent web manifests three-fold, encompassing the world in an abundant harvest of love and trust. Your skin cells, for example, are continually being born and dying, replaced by new cells each time. We do not mourn the death of our skin cells on a daily basis, but instead buy all sorts of products to slough off the dead cells so that newer cells can come to the surface. That which is physical is unable to maintain continuity of form. The energy that creates the body changes form, but not existence. A rock can be worn away from erosion, its atoms dispersing but not destroyed. The physical body is no different. Yet, underneath, the spirit remains, cognizant of its eternal existence, knowing it can grow, but never die. The energy that is of the spirit is bound to an eternal interconnected web that is sustained by the ever growing energy of love. The body is but a physical manifestation, a shell that the spirit inhabits for a time and then leaves so as to move on to the next expression of its existence. A butterfly does not mourn the loss of its caterpillar self nor does it fear its release from the cocoon that served as the medium for its transformation. The body is no more or less than a chrysalis to carry us through the physical plane. The spirit continues to be the spirit in whatever form it takes. When you release the fear of death, you are able to release the fear of living. Namaste! https://www.tobiehewitt.com/contact.html to join my mailing list. Fear binds us to limitations of thought and action. Fear fed through worry is giving power to a negative potential rather than a positive one. We create the experience we fear through concentrating on its reality when in fact it has no substance except in our minds. The monster under the bed is only a dust bunny until through fear it grows talons and teeth of our own creation. Fearing a potential outcome and pouring energy into that manifests it more fully in our minds even if no such eventuality exists. Our fears mitigate our experience of our world as we see it through the darkness of deception rather than the light of truth. Release fear and embrace the joy-filled clarity of living in faith and trust in a loving universe. Namaste! https://www.tobiehewitt.com/contact.html to join my mailing list. (Art by Joy Argento; https://www.redbubble.com/shop/artbyjoy) To live with an open heart is to experience the depth of the love contained within the Creative Spirit. An open heart feels and expresses compassion, empathy, kindness, solace, joy, hope, faith, pain, and gladness. In keeping open, we allow ourselves to feel the full range of human emotions, knowing we are held within the protective and comforting spirit of the All. The heart that remains open, even after sorrow, learns that it is only through that open door that we can walk in the joyful light of love. An open heart apprehends the needs of another and tries to address them, and is also aware of the needs of the self, and allows others to reach out in kind. When we approach each other with an open and honest heart, we know the blessings of compassionate trust. Namaste! https://www.tobiehewitt.com/contact.html to join my mailing list.
