Practice fearlessness. This does not mean walking along the ledge of a high-rise building or swimming with sharks. It means living your daily life with grace and strength. It means not fearing being different or unique in your manner or thought. It means living knowing that a larger force is holding you in the interdependent web, bathed in love and peace. The river is wide and the bridge is high—traverse both secure in your enduring place in the fabric of the universe. Namaste! https://www.tobiehewitt.com/contact.html to join my mailing list. When we listen to the wind, we hear the lessons of nature expressed in a focused and measured manner. Just as the trees and reeds bend and bow in the rush of air as it passes by, we too should acknowledge with respect the ways in which the wind affects our lives. The light breeze in summer cools us and reminds us of the halcyon days of childhood. The wind rustling the autumn leaves reminds us of the circle of the year. The gale force wind of blizzards and hurricanes reminds us that there is a power greater than ourselves with the ability to change our lives for a day or forever. When we listen with respect to the wind, we are reminded that it too is an expression of the Creative Spirit. Namaste! https://www.tobiehewitt.com/contact.html to join my mailing list. (Art by Joy Argento) When we forget that we are part of something greater than our own immediate physical being, nature, which exists as part of the interdependent web as much as we do, reminds us that there are forces and circumstances over which we have no control except in our reactions to their physical manifestation. While we may look at each other with distrust and worry that those who are superficially not like us will wreak havoc on us, nature is able to gather its energies and create circumstances that demand our attention to it and its power. Thus are we often reminded that we are part of a greater reality. When we manifest respect and compassion toward each other and our environment, we experience the oneness of the All. (Art by Joy Argento) Sometimes when we pray for the healing or release from suffering of another, we find that our prayers do not seem to have any effect whatsoever and at other times we can note a change for the better. The illnesses and challenges we face sometimes are those we have selected to learn from and thus we must experience them through to their end. At other times, our suffering exists in order to provide a focal point for the centering of intent for the alleviation of that suffering. At all times, we need to know that everything that happens is part of the larger vision of the Creative Spirit. Namaste! https://www.tobiehewitt.com/contact.html to join my mailing list. (Art by Joy Argento) When two or more are gathered, it does not create a church but rather a centering of intent. When we sit together with a singleness of purpose, the energy created and transmitted goes forth to elicit a positive result. For example, when we hear of one who is ill, gathering two or more people together to pray for the healing of that person helps to facilitate well-being. The gathering of energies with the intent of world healing is accomplished 24/7 by those who pause at 11:11 around the globe to send affirmations as one. Combining our energies to create positive change is accomplished through and by the increased focusing of the energy of love. (Art by Joy Argento) Monkey mind often reacts to challenging circumstances with confusion, angst, negativity, and agitation, all of which arise from fear of an unknown result. Allowing monkey mind to dominate our spirit self defeats our call to be compassionate and kind, both to our self and to others. Even when others bring chaos and distress into our lives, we must always seek the way of peace by focusing on our underlying oneness within the interdependent web. When we do so, we can tap into the energy of love, which informs and sustains us as beings within the light and love of the Creative Spirit. From the economy to other people’s sexual orientation, from political unrest to environmental pollution, the fear of the unknown is driving our actions and reactions. When we believe that what we are seeing and experiencing is somehow imbued with negativity by some unseen or unknowable force and that therefore we have no control over a given outcome, we hide behind our locked doors with curtains drawn, never asking if what we are perceiving as a threat is real or is the product of someone’s imagination, someone trying to gain and maintain control and power. When we begin to realize that we have control over our actions and reactions, we can begin to set aside fear and exist through the energy of love. When we take care of the world around us, we are taking care of ourselves as well. When we bring harm to other beings and to the plants, the water, and the air, we are creating an environment that ceases to work in harmony. The chaos that ensues does not serve the vision of the Creative Spirit, but instead challenges our wellbeing. In these circumstances our growth becomes hindered, mired as it is in a constant pursuit of survival rather than peace and rising consciousness. When we walk our path mindfully with kindness and compassion, we give thanks for the planet that sustains us through the energy of love. (Art by Joy Argento) The butchering of animals releases the elements of cruelty on the one side and fear and suffering on the other. When we consume animals that have lived and died violently, we are consuming their distress and this increases our own discomfort as we travel our path through this life on this planet. This personal distress then impacts our dealings with self and others. We become more prone to experiencing and inflicting fear and suffering. Our planet becomes bathed in those temperaments, adding to the global chaos of inhumanity. When we live and eat compassionately, we practice conscious compassion toward other beings and ourselves. Our mission here is to grow as individuals and in community with others. These others are not simply those in human form, but indeed all sentient creatures. When we permit the suffering of those who share the planet with us, human or animal, we ignore the voice of the Creative Spirit, which instructs us to love each other. When we learn to respect and revere each, we raise the consciousness and karma of All. Namaste! https://www.tobiehewitt.com/contact.html to join my mailing list. (Art by Joy Argento) |
