When we act and react in a state of kindness, we change the existing paradigm. Rather than simply turning the other cheek when we are put in a situation that tests our patience, commitment, or beliefs, or questions our integrity or intent, it is far more beneficial to act from a dynamic of kindness, peace, and love. We do not need to return adversarial behavior in kind, but instead we can draw on the awareness that we are all part of the One. The person who is acting negatively toward us is, in reality, a part of that which we, too, are a part of. When we learn to trust in our connectivity rather than the illusion of separateness, we can learn to act and react with kindness and love.
