Hoarding our possessions, our time, and our abilities, instead of making us richer, creates the sense of further need. We act as though there is not enough in the universe to fulfill us, to make us happy, to keep us in good stead with our fellow beings. We cling to the notion that we are at every turn going to face outward limitations, and so to ward off this feeling, we never let go of the things that in reality are not giving us security, but instead are keeping us from actualizing our lives. The more we cling to what we have amassed in the physical plane, the less we are alive in the larger plane of spirit. Making sure everyone has what they need provides riches that last beyond this illusion of time and space.
