When we suddenly sense a disconnection from those around us in the spirit world, and it does sometimes happen, then is the time to acknowledge that nothing has changed. We are still supported by their loving attention, but they have stepped back to let us trust our instincts and our own still small internal voice. It is a lesson in patience when everything appears to come to a grinding halt and we feel as though we have been abandoned. In reality, this is the time of preparation for the next steps along our path. Being restful and patient allows the energy of love to impel us toward the direction of our fulfillment. We may think of our selves as actors performing a play upon a stage, in this case the stage of physical life. At any time we may forget a line or even forget the motivation for our role. Then we must improvise. This can lead to perhaps a more meaningful idea being expressed or learned. Thankfully, in this play the ultimate playwright is not offended by free and creative expression. We are responsible for our role in the play that is a particular lifetime. Namaste! https://www.tobiehewitt.com/contact.html to join my mailing list. (Art by Joy Argento) On a warm summer night we can venture out into the dark and gaze at the stars and remember that we are made of the same stuff that they are. This truth is not always obvious nor direct, but we need to keep the eyes and ears of the heart open to discern the messages that present themselves everywhere around us, if we but look and listen. In the smallest blade of grass and the largest tree, in the ant and the elephant, in the atom and the sun, the essence of who we are also exists and existed since the beginning in an ever present now. “We are such stuff as dreams are made on” and those are the dreams of the Creative Spirit. When you speak to another incarnate person, you are communicating with a spirit, whether you realize and acknowledge this or not. In eastern countries, people when meeting and leaving bring their hands together in prayer pose, bow to the other person, and say “Namaste.” This is the recognition that it is not simply a physical being the person is speaking with, but with their spirit as well. They are aware that we are not only body and mind, but spirit as well. When we acknowledge our own spiritual reality, it is easier to communicate with those on the other side of the veil. (Art by Joy Argento) Sometimes we can find ourselves saying something aloud that we had no awareness of thinking before we said it. It simply articulates itself without our conscious awareness. Other times, we may be writing and find that we have written something without knowing where the words came from. In these moments, we need to stop and consider the content of what we have said or written and discern the meaning and message. These occurrences are sincere communications from your own spirit to your conscious mind or from the spirits on the other side of the veil. Spontaneous spirit communication travels to us through the energy of love. Namaste! https://www.tobiehewitt.com/contact.html to join my mailing list. (Art by Joy Argento) When we seek after spiritual gifts and begin to develop the ability to receive messages from spirit, we are often confronted with issues of trust. Is the communication really coming from a non-physical being? Does the message have value and is it true? Am I making this up in my head or are the ideas I am perceiving being presented from an external source? The more we hear from our spirit guides, loved ones on the other side of the veil, and other beings who wish to communicate with us, the more it becomes apparent that something extraordinary and, at the same time, quite ordinary, is occurring. When we trust with our heart, we can confidently rely on the messages we receive from spirit. Namaste! https://www.tobiehewitt.com/contact.html to join my mailing list. (Art by Joy Argento) It is not often when a spirit guide or other non-physical being knocks on our front door or calls us on the phone in order to start a conversation with us. The truth is that because of the difference in vibrational manifestation, those in spirit must use other methods to gain our attention. One method is the use of number patterns as a way of drawing our attention to the moment. When we see, for example, the number 444, we can rest assured that someone in spirit is communicating with us. When this happens repeatedly, it is a call to pay attention in order to discern what the message is that is being sent to us. When we become aware of clues that a spirit is “knocking on our door,” then we need to stop and listen with the ears of the heart. (Art by Joy Argento) In the moment of silence after a bell vibrates its last note into the surrounding air, there is a sound that surpasses our conscious awareness of sound. It is the still, sweet note that reverberates at all times and in all spaces but becomes apparent as its independent self only in relation to the absence of other sounds and tones. It is the sound that echoed through the universe at the moment of creation when everything that already existed was once again brought into a new and vibrant reality. When we meditate, intoning it brings us home again and again. It is the sound that informs and sustains the vibrations inherent in the energy of love—Om! (Art by Joy Argento) Being here and now, in this moment and no other, allows us to pause and perceive the air that surrounds us as it touches our skin. If we stay very still we can discern in the air various aspects—it is moving or it is stagnant, dry or heavy with humidity, odorless or fragrant with the sweet aromas of summer. As we contemplate the air further, closing our eyes and imagining a reality beyond our reality, we can acknowledge the air as a being, always here in all space and time. The air we inhale and exhale has existed in one form or another since the very moment the Creative Spirit breathed it and everything into existence. As we allow the air to flow over our skin, know that we are embraced by that perfect, loving Spirit. Namaste! https://www.tobiehewitt.com/contact.html to join my mailing list. (Art by Joy Argento) When we least expect it, our lives seem to take on a life of their own. One day we are working at a job that we thought was our life work, that which we went to school for and worked hard to get. The next day, we find that the business has closed or we are let go. Then we become tense and wonder how we failed, how this calamity could have happened when we had worked so very hard. That is the moment not to focus on what has just happened, but rather to ask, with a sense of wonder and anticipation, what is next, what is the next step we should take on our path. At every moment, we need to examine where we are and what we are doing and ask spirit (our own and others) if we are on the best course. Our paths change over a lifetime; we need to listen carefully to discern our next steps. Namaste! https://www.tobiehewitt.com/contact.html to join my mailing list. (Art by Joy Argento) |
