Sometimes I look into the mirror and in the nanosecond before my brain registers what my eyes are seeing, I sense the flicker of awareness that this is not, in many senses, real. Yes, this is the physical me at this moment in time in this lifetime, this incarnation on this planet. But am I this only? I lean in and look more deeply. There is a me that knows it is in all times and spaces here and now. I expand beyond my body. I am that spark that lights into the deeper recesses of the universe, this universe, and I wonder if there is something I am missing, something I am not seeing in this mirror created by human hands. What if I could see beyond this physical mirror and capture the reflection of the connection to the light beyond, the oneness beyond, and rather than simply washing my face, I contemplate washing the negative vibrations that are trying to douse the light herenow. Lightworkers ask such questions, knowing that the answers are a feeling, a sense, rather than something that is captured in words. Beyond the words, there is a message, a meaning. Beyond the words that wordsmith lightworkers capture on the fly, there is an intelligence that begs to be known, urges to be shared, and these are the words that seek to heal the darkness and breathe more deeply into the light.
365 days ago, we started on this journey together to discover where we are, where we came from, and where we are going. On this journey we examined and acknowledged the concept that we are spiritual beings having a physical experience and how that knowledge can be utilized to pursue our best path through this life. As we stand on the threshold of another new year, we can rest assured that we have awakened to an understanding that as we live our lives on this plane, our essential spirit continues, forever and always, to fulfill the vision of the Creative Spirit and, in this, know that we are one within the interdependent web of existence. As we celebrate our daily renewal, let us always remember we exist within and are sustained by the energy of love. Namaste!

Reminding ourselves that we are one within the All that is traveling within the vision of the Creative Spirit can help us to determine our next steps on this path. As we resolve to evolve in our thoughts and actions, knowing that we are an integral aspect of something vastly larger than our individual self, should give both comfort and a sense of responsibility. While we are never alone, we are also always responsible for the well-being of those around us. If we focus our resolutions for the coming year on the expression of compassion, empathy, and kindness, we will surely grow within the energy of love. Although all space is here and all time is now, we measure our lives by the illusion of space around us and the moments we bind one to the next as we progress on our path through the physical plane. In this balance between an awareness of the illusion and the creation of a constantly evolving reality, it is no wonder that we sometimes feel like tightrope walkers trying to keep steady within each step. In this time of contemplation and self-examination, it is good to remember that we are essential spirits sustained and informed by the interdependent web. Who am I? Why am I here? How can I make a difference? Am I living my best life in this span of time I am here on this plane? When we examine our lives, we become aware of the questions seeking answers. We are born into this world knowing what our purpose is and the lessons we have incarnated to learn. In a brief span of time, we forget why we are here and begin to struggle to accommodate the physical plane as our individual spirits and those on the other side of the veil cognizant of our life plan wait in contemplative awareness as we stumble and then regain our footing. Now is the time to light a candle and sit in meditative silence, listening to the informing spirit of our essential self. Namaste! https://www.tobiehewitt.com/contact.html to join my mailing list.
Socrates said, “The unexamined life is not worth living,” and we have now reached that time of year when we stop our mad rush around the planet and contemplate our place on it and consider ways in which we can attain a new awareness of self within the larger community. Just as we have spent time recently discovering the myriad manifestation of light within and around us, so now we are compelled to discover how we may utilize this light for our own growth and for the best purposes of those around us. When we examine our lives, we acknowledge those lessons that remain to be learned. Namaste! https://www.tobiehewitt.com/contact.html to join my mailing list. (Art by Joy Argento)
We are almost through the festivals that have at their core the celebratory reverence for the myriad manifestations of light. In Kwanza we find that the light is a source of inspiration for how to live on this plane in the company of others and how to do so with the intention of striving to become our best self. One aspect of this holiday is recognizing one’s unity with the All. When we unify our essential spirit within the light of community, all things are possible. Out of the darkness, we welcome the return of the sun. The celestial wheel has turned once again and we are walking our path in ever increasing light. In this light is the essence of our being; we are formed of light and to light we always return. This is the light of this world and the other planes through which we travel. This is the light that radiates even now as our essential beings travel sustained through the energy of love. Namaste! https://www.tobiehewitt.com/contact.html to join my mailing list. Out of the silence, miracles are born. When we contemplate the reality of renaissance as a perpetual blessing that sustains and informs our lives, we welcome the renewal that is available to us in every breath. As we await the rebirth of the sun and its life giving light, we know that we are part of a larger vision than our own. We know that we are part of the All that has existed from that first moment in the illusion of time. We know that light is the manifestation of our essential being. The stark beauty of bare tree branches reaching into the gray morning sky reminds us of our own cycle of life. We incarnate into the physical plane and enjoy our span of manifestation, then experience rebirth on the other side of the veil. The illusion in the physical plane of the cycle of life and death serves to instill in us a sense of longing and at the same time fulfillment. Through our physical journey, we seek to gain an understanding of our physical being. When we are non-physical spirits, we welcome the lessons available only in the realm of form.
